Why I Entered the AI Remix Competition

Have you ever had a dream that seemed just out of reach? That's how I felt about my music career... until now.

Music has been my passion since I can remember. I've spent countless nights in my makeshift home studio, pouring my heart into tracks that only a handful of people ever heard. But I’ve never given up, because music isn't just something I do - it’s an inherent part of who I am.

When I first heard about the AI Remix Challenge, I was psyched! This could be the opportunity I need to level up my career as a composer & performing musician! Not only that, it’s a great opportunity to share the good news of AI; it isn’t about replacing human creativity - it’s about enhancing it.

I decided to enter the challenge because it represented everything I love about music: innovation, creativity, and the thrill of trying something new. Working to remix Flosstradamus' track was a joy for me because I got to take a beloved song and add my own twist to it.

As I listened to other users’ entries, I realized that many of them are more reimaginations or not even really faithful to the original song at all. I wanted to make sure it was clear to my listeners that this song was Soundclash, but with the Asabaal addition to it. What I loved about this track was that it didn’t have a verse, so I saw it as my responsibility to write my own verse to this song - something that I’m sure was exactly what Flosstradamus was going after for an official re-release of this song.

Winning this challenge would be more than just about the prize money (though $25k would certainly help a struggling artist!). It would be validation that taking risks and embracing new technologies in music can pay off. And the chance to perform live with Flosstradamus? That's the stuff dreams are made of.

But whether I win or not, this experience has already changed me as an artist. It’s made me feel like I belong in this community, I represent not only myself and my interests, but also the entirety of Christian music, and I'm excited to be part of the music renaissance.
